China's research icebreaker Xuelong 2 concluded a survey of ocean cross-section and investigative tasks in the Amundsen Sea and surrounding areas on January 22. During the journey, researchers reached the Amundsen Sea and carried out comprehensive surveys on the hydrology, atmosphere, marine ice, biology and chemistry of the region.
